Spazdom

I have a confession to make . . . I can be a total spaz!

You see, a couple of days ago I purchased Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 so that I can begin to more professionally edit the photographs I take.  Justin and I had earned $250 in Best Buy giftcards from our appliance purchases when we bought the new house, so I thought "what the heck."  One of the store employees warned me that the program was near impossible to use, but then another younger employee told me it wasn't that bad, especially if I had a DSLR camera.

Well, you might recall another post where I admitted that I am not a computer genious.  HaHaHaHaHa . . . that was an understatement when it came to Photoshop.  Litte did I realize, but the software does not come with an instuction manual.  Did you know there are entire college courses dedicated to this computer program???  Yep.  You guessed it.  Photoshop was slightly majorly over my head.

It probably didn't help that I attempted to use it for the first time at the end of a long day with very little sleep, but nevertheless, I saw the screen and hit my internal panic button.  And . . . thus began my journey to spazdom.  First, I just played around with all the buttons on my computer screen, then I telephoned Justin at work to say "I'm not sure what I've gotten myself into," then I started watching online tutorials, then I attempted to duplicate these tutorials on my own photos, then my heart started racing..I started sweating...I felt tears stinging my eyes, then I looked at my Best Buy receipt for their return policy, then I called Justin in a panic declaring "I might as well have thrown a $100 bill in the garbage!", then I started crying on the phone and told him "I can't talk about it anymore; you don't understand; I'm so mad at myself for buying this!"

Then, I got determined (or call it pig-headed).  I stopped watching tutorials and took it step-by-step on a few recent photos I have taken.  And, turns out, I really am a total spaz.  And while I've only scratched the surface, it actually wasn't that bad.

I'm not making any promises, but I think maybe I can cut my losses at $25.

When you figure it out, come teach me. I got it for Christmas, and I quit using it and went back to the free Picasa because I couldn't figure it out AT ALL.

I think you always take great pictures. I think the ones you posted look better after. More enhanced or something. Love you. Marney
P.S. can't believe Jackson is 2 months short of being a year old!
