Frying Pan Farm

Today my friend Katie and I took our boys to Frying Pan Farm on a little adventure.  While we got to see some real horses, the little fellas got to ride some antique ones!

They managed to have a pretty good time on the carousel, although Ben got skipped in line and had to wait to ride ... and then he hit his little noggin on his horses' pole.

Afterwards when we were exploring the farm, we found this nifty tree with a natural "seat."  Of course, I had to snap a few photographs of the boys.

While it wasn't anything extravagant ... it was just a nice day to spend with friends.

That's all folks!

Railroad Days

Living where we currently do, we can travel to the "great state of West Virginia" in about 20 minutes.  Well, today we traveled a bit further into the mountains for an event called "Railroad Days" at the Potomac Eagle Scenic Railroad in Romney, West Virginia.

It's an annual event that allows passengers to take a 1.5 hour train ride through the mountain for only $10.00.  It was worth every . single . penny!

As you know, Jackson is obsessed with "trains ... choo choo" right now.  So, he was so excited.  The pictures are so much better than my words, so I'll let them do the talking this time.

Enjoy!

Getting warmed up for the real thing ...

Here we go!

Swing Set

For his second birthday, Jackson got the "ultimate" present from his Granny ToTo ... A GIANT SWING SET!  The only problem was ... Justin needed help to build the monster!  Fortunately, Jax was none the wiser ... and he basically got to relive his birthday again this weekend when his Uncle Charlie and Mr. Bill came over to help Justin build it.

At the end of day one:  Justin and Charlie had completed the basic structure.  Somehow, it still looked a little lonely out in our backyard.

Early Saturday morning, Mr. Bill came over ... and the men got going again!

And kept going ...

Until it was almost done!

After about 14 hours of hard labor in the scorching heat ... the masterpiece was complete!  Justin and I waited until evening to show Jackson so that he wouldn't get overheated in his Mehta cast.  He was quite the happy camper.

Naturally, the very top tier is Jackson's favorite spot to play.

Which makes Mommy and NeNe a little nervous.  But, "boys will be boys."
Or so they say.

... so I had better get used to it ...

... because my house it full of them ...

AND I wouldn't have it any other way!

Jackson had a wonderful evening getting to know his new "house" as he calls it.  We are so thankful to Granny ToTo for getting Jax (and Oliver) this amazing birthday swing set ... and also to Justin, Charlie, and Bill for constructing it.  You made one little fella very happy!

As for this one, he'll come around!

I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship Summer!
