Double Digits

I cannot believe my baby is a double-digit ... 10 months old yesterday!

I did my crude estimates and Jax weighs 21 pounds 12 ounces (only 4 ounces more that last month) and he is 30 inches long (grown 1 inch).  He still wears clothing size 12-18 months, and I think he will for awhile ... he keeps getting taller and thinning out on us!  His little legs still have fat rolls, so it's okay by me!

This month has been HUGE for Jax's development.  I have already written about most of them, but to recap: he is crawling forward-the real way-moving both legs separately, he is feeding himself with a pincer grasp, he only takes 4, 8oz bottles daily (3 meals and before bed), he rarely eats babyfood but now prefers "real" table food, he sleeps from 8:30pm until 7:30am on most nights, he says "da-da","ma-ma","na-na", "ba-ba", and "hi," very occasionally we have seen him wave, he is starting to show some interest in pulling to standing, and he can stand briefly on his own when holding on.  Oh yeah, and he is beginning to get one bottom tooth!!!  I am so relieved that he actually does have teeth under those adorable gums that we so often see!  I noticed this little tooth bud about 3 days ago, and you should have seen how excited I got.  You can barely see the top just poking through.

This month Jax has also enjoyed starting his swimming lessons . . .

going to Storytime at the library . . .

trying lots of brand new foods . . .

taking trips to the park . . .

and to the Baltimore Aquarium . . .

getting his very first haircut . . .

attending his first baby shower (outside the womb) . . .

visting UVA for the first time . . .

And just being this
incredibly happy baby . . . with the exception of when being buckled into his carseat, of course.

That boy is going to be walking before I can get my hands on him again. I love all of the pictures. Please give him a hug and kiss from his grandpa.
